Crystals for Starseeds

Today on The Starseed Awakening Podcast, I sat down with Elizabeth Dixon of Altar Space to talk about the metaphysical properties of crystals and how they can assist us as starseeds on Earth.

Elizabeth is a crystal witch who is dedicated to using the power of crystals to help others heal their spiritual lives and live their authentic truth. She is also the owner of Altar Space Crystals and The Empress, my favorite local metaphysical shop here where I live in New Braunfels, Texas.

I was so excited to ask her ALL about crystals for starseeds because, while I love collecting and using crystals for everything from meditation to galactic activation, I am by no means a crystal expert.

Here are some of Elizabeth's crystal recommendations to strengthen our gifts and help us with the challenges that we face, as starseeds:

Strengthening Intuition

As starseeds, intuition is everything. It's how we connect to the wisdom of our Higher Self and learn to live a life in alignment with our truth. One stone for strengthening your intuition which is pretty easy to come by is labradorite. Another is ionite, which can be placed directly on the third eye chakra during meditation, if laying down. Another powerful stone to add to the mix during mediation is blue kyanite, which can be used to align the throat chakra.

Connecting to the Cosmos

Whether you're astral projecting or connecting to guides from other star systems, these spacey rocks have you covered. Tektite, a type of natural glass formed by meteorite strikes, is great for exploring the cosmos, whether in dreams or in a deep meditative state. It is similar to moldavite, but much less intense. Celestite and angelite, both dreamy baby blue in color, are wonderful for connecting with guides. You can set them by your bedside at night to receive messages.

Protection

When journeying within, it's always a good idea to have a protective crystal to accompany you. Black tourmaline, black obsidian, or black onyx will do the trick.

Grounding

When coming out of a deep meditative state or after a quantum hypnosis session when your consciousness is in an expanded state, you'll definitely want to use a crystal to help you get back into your body. Smoky quartz is always great and easy to come by. Another wonderful crystal for grounding is shungite.

Sensitivities

It's no secret that us starseeds are Highly Sensitive People. It can be helpful to carry around a crystal to help us stay calm when the world feels overwhelming. Sodalite helps calm the mind and ease panic attacks. Amethyst is also a tried-and-true option and has the added bonus of being protective as well.

Neurodivergence

As many of us starseeds have some form of neurodivergence (or neurospiciness, as I like to say), we can get some assistance from our crystal helpers. Rainbow flourite is a great option as it helps to bring order to chaos and focus the mind. Clear quartz is also create for seeing clearly and helps with memory.

Little Starseeds

What about crystals for our littlest starseeds? Elizabeth recommends that children carry pocket-sized stones with them in a pouch, and reminds us that it's okay if they get misplaced, because that can actually be a sign that the child has outgrown their current crystals. One crystal that helps with the loneliness, isolation, and feeling of being different that often accompanies being a little starseed is Botswana agate, which is also a very gentle stone. 

Now that you know which crystals are especially effective for us starseeds, what do you do when you bring a new crystal home? Check out these tips below to learn how to cleanse and charge your new crystals.

Cleansing a Crystal

There are many ways to cleanse a crystal. The process of cleansing allows any old energy that is left within the stone from others handling it to be cleared. This is especially important for any vintage crystal jewelry that you happen to acquire.

• Light an herbal bundle, such as sage and/or other herbs, to cleanse the crystal with smoke
• Set out the crystal in the light of the full moon
• Submerse the crystal in salt or water (make sure the crystal is not water soluble, first)
• Visualize the crystal being cleansed

Charging a Crystal

After cleansing the crystal, you can amplify its power. This can also be a helpful practice to do if your crystal has been used recently (in meditation, for example) or if it has been collecting dust for a while.

• Place the crystal in sunlight for up to four hours (be careful - some crystals, such as amethyst, fade if left in sunlight for too long)
• Set the crystal on a selenite plate or disc (selenite is self-renewing, so it never needs to be charged)
• Bury the crystals overnight (great for black crystals, but be sure not to forget where you buried them!)
